Job Description

QUALITY INSPECTOR 2
Monday - Friday
5:30 am - 4:00 pm
$21.50 - $23.50 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
  • Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gage, surface plate, etc.)
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records and reports
  • Identify, isolate, and report non-conforming materials and products
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials to verify specifications are met
  • Support production by providing guidance on measurement techniques and documentation
  • Assist with PPAP and first article inspections, including dimensional verification
  • Operate measurement equipment such as FARO and Micro-Vu systems
  • Maintain and assist with calibration of inspection tools per ISO standards
  • Ensure proper documentation and certifications are completed prior to product release/shipment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean processes
  • Train and support entry-level inspectors as needed
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement practices
  • Strong understanding of inspection tools, techniques, and safety standards
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents
  • Basic math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and general computer applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred
