Job Description

CHURCH SECRETARY 
Monday - Thursday
9:00 am - 12:00 pm 
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour

 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform tasks assigned by SPRC and Pastor efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all church-related matters.
  • Keep church Facebook page and website current and accurate.
  • Assist Pastor in enhancing church communications and outreach.
  • Route all mail, messages, and emails promptly.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly bulletins and monthly newsletters.
  • Maintain the church calendar and schedule events in coordination with the Pastor and Trustees.
  • Update church committee organization chart and member contact lists.
  • Handle memorial communications and Prayer Chain notifications.
  • Manage and update church membership records and directories.
  • Report church attendance to the district office as required.
  • Provide administrative support to Pastor and church ministries.
  • Order office and janitorial supplies and maintain office equipment.
  • Direct maintenance requests to Trustee Chair.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and greet visitors courteously.
  • Maintain clean, organized office files and records.
  • Offer refreshments to visitors and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Keep Pastor informed of relevant new resources or training.
  • Work collaboratively as a team player.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive relationships with all church and district members.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Prior experience as a church secretary preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Publisher.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with office equipment (e.g., copy machines).
  • Must be a team-oriented, positive individual.
