ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate CNC machines in the production of bolt action products with the support/guidance of a Lead Machinist
- Utilize basic metrology equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) to verify machine accuracy and quality parts produced
- Unload completed parts, and reload new parts as they are produced to maintain production flow
- Deburr shavings from production parts along the way to ensure quality and safety for our customers
- Sharpen and/or modify tooling and inserts with grinding wheels, belt sanders, or surface grinder
- Operate as initial quality control inspector on all parts produced
- Wear all safety equipment (glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, etc.) as required by management and company safety policy
- Any other duties assigned by management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a knack or talent for mechanical equipment/operations
- Earnest desire to learn and train under a Lead Machinist how to machine high quality 416R steel bolt actions
- Possesses basic math skills and comfortable using a calculator to ensure dimensional measurements match drawings
- Detail-oriented, strong communication skills, good team player, and has humility and interested in learning a new trade
- No prior experience with CNC equipment necessary, but preferred
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Perform basic math skills (with assistance of calculator as needed) to determine parts meet necessary measurements
