COUNTER SALES PERSON

8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturdays
8:00 am – 12:00 pm
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept within the organization.
- Perform counter sales and assists customers with product recommendations.
- Expected to load customers (small and large products).
- Assist with daily paperwork, record keeping and computer entry.
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customer inquiries at the counter and over the phone regarding such things as statements, sales, bids, grain and/or fertilizer contracting, pricing questions, grain and fertilizer offers and options, historical account activity, selling, etc.
- Prepare customer grain and/or fertilizer contracts, settlements, and issues grain and/or fertilizer settlement checks, as needed.
- Abide with state and federal rules and regulations, monitors grain and/or fertilizer contracts to ensure compliance and make sure there is no lien on government hold.
- Prepare feed orders, purchase orders, work orders to mill, invoice feed, outgoing grain/fertilizer and prepare and input grain/fertilizer transfers, lot tracking for feed ingredients, track grain movement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Office and Bookkeeping experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to the counter sales.
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license for forklift truck preferred.
- At least one year of work experience in a similar role is ideal.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Ability to lift 50-100 pounds
