ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform initial meat processing operations including skinning, trimming, sorting, and carcass inspection.
- Use tools and equipment such as knives, saws, scissors, grinders, crushers, and scales.
- Crack cattle skulls and operate equipment in accordance with safety and processing protocols.
- Load products into machines and operate packaging, labeling, and boxing systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by using power washers, squeegees, and other sanitation tools.
- Clean and sanitize all workstations and equipment used in processing.
- Rotate through various tasks and roles based on production needs and USDA standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to raw meat and processing areas.
- Comfortable using sharp tools and operating heavy machinery.
- Must follow strict safety, hygiene, and USDA regulations.
- Able to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and perform repetitive motions.
- Willingness to work in cold, wet, or warm environments, depending on plant location.
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in meat processing or manufacturing preferred but not required.
