JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Meat Processor to handle meat cutting, trimming, and packaging. This role demands keen attention to detail, adherence to food safety guidelines, and flexibility in scheduling due to the dynamic nature of operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Cut, trim, and bone meat according to specifications.
- Process thawed carcasses into combo trim and specialty cuts.
- Operate processing equipment, maintaining cleanliness and functionality.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and handling protocols.
- Inspect, package, and label meat products.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to meet quality standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meat processing experience required (specialty cuts preferred).
- Knowledge of meat cuts and processing equipment.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a cold environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-changing production environment.
SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT EXPECTATIONS
- Work schedules are highly variable and may change with little to no notice due to factors such as weather, logistics, port activity, and supply chain conditions.
- Shifts may be cancelled or adjusted within hours, including early morning notifications for same-day changes.
- Employees must be reliable and available when scheduled—failure to report as scheduled may impact future scheduling opportunities, including overtime eligibility.
- Significant overtime opportunities are available, especially on “dark” or non-operational days.
- Some departments, particularly shipping, may offer extended hours and up to 7-day workweeks.
- Candidates must be comfortable with unstable hours and demonstrate flexibility when considering this position.
