SITDOWN FORKLIFT OPERATOR

10:00 am - 6:00 pm
$15.50 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
- Locate and move stock of products for storage or shipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
- Check loads are secure by using proper lock loads inside the truck
- Place identification labels to pallets or mark them with identifying information.
- Practices safe and secure environment, reporting to a supervisor any observed issues (i.e. food safety, physical safety, environment, equipment)
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance. Check water levels of the equipment batteries.
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
- Practices and observes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Meet the requirements of HACCP, Food Safety Standard (BRC), FSMA and C-TPAT guidelines
- Stack empty pallets
- Transport raw materials to production workstations
- Repack and inspect product
- Preforms other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1 year of experience related to the industry or combination of 3 years’ experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Proven experience as forklift operator
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Valid certification to operate forklifts
- Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Knowledgeable about the operation of office equipment (computer, fax, copier and other office equipment)
- Ability to work various shifts to meet the needs of the business
- Able to work overtime if required by company
- Must report to work on time and on your schedule
- Able to make decisions and work well with others
- Work under pressure of time and deadlines
- Knowledgeable about Warehouse Management Systems, RF devices, warehouse inventory controls and records of transactions.
- Must be able to follow either written or oral instructions to perform assigned activities
- Excellent skills to handle product in rack systems, preferable experienced in dynamic rack systems
- Excellent shills to drive stand-up reach forklifts
