Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
Locate and move stock of products for storage or shipment
Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
Check loads are secure by using proper lock loads inside the truck
Place identification labels to pallets or mark them with identifying information.
Practices safe and secure environment, reporting to a supervisor any observed issues (i.e. food safety, physical safety, environment, equipment)
Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance. Check water levels of the equipment batteries.
Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
Practices and observes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Meet the requirements of HACCP, Food Safety Standard (BRC), FSMA and C-TPAT guidelines
Stack empty pallets
Transport raw materials to production workstations
Repack and inspect product
Preforms other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED preferred
1 year of experience related to the industry or combination of 3 years’ experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Proven experience as forklift operator
Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Valid certification to operate forklifts
Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
Knowledgeable about the operation of office equipment (computer, fax, copier and other office equipment)
Ability to work various shifts to meet the needs of the business
Able to work overtime if required by company
Must report to work on time and on your schedule
Able to make decisions and work well with others
Work under pressure of time and deadlines
Knowledgeable about Warehouse Management Systems, RF devices, warehouse inventory controls and records of transactions.
Must be able to follow either written or oral instructions to perform assigned activities
Excellent skills to handle product in rack systems, preferable experienced in dynamic rack systems
Excellent shills to drive stand-up reach forklifts
