FORKLIFT OPERATOR / YARD ASSISTANT
Part time
25 hours a week: 3 days a week or 5 hours per day
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate a forklift to safely move materials, scrap bins, and recycling containers throughout the facility.
- Assist machine operators by loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the shop by sweeping work areas and removing debris.
- Collect, separate, and dispose of scrap materials in designated recycling containers.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
- Restock restroom and break room supplies.
- Perform routine forklift maintenance, including greasing equipment, checking fluid levels, and refueling.
- Organize materials, equipment, and work areas to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop and yard.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Previous forklift experience preferred; forklift certification is a plus or willingness to become certified.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent bending, stooping, walking, and standing throughout the shift.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine forklift maintenance.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing/shop environment and follow all company safety procedures.
