Job Description

FURNACE OPERATOR LLC
Monday – Friday
6:30 am - 3:00 pm, overtime, holidays and weekends, a must as needed
$19.75 per hour
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 
  • Operate all assigned equipment and processes safely, efficiently, and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Interpret process data and make adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
  • Set up, prepare, and monitor machinery including grinding mills, sifters, elevators, dryers, heat exchangers, and related systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist maintenance teams as required.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality standards.
  • Take accurate tank readings and monitor tank levels to maintain process balance.
  • Maintain accurate logs and electronic data records related to furnace and plant operations.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and address any issues per regulatory and internal procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, audits, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance with environmental permits and emission standards by monitoring emission control equipment.
  • Assist in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts, including team-based initiatives.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and technical documentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to document electronically.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator when required.
  • Familiarity with ISO management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality systems such as CQI and SPC is preferred.
 
Additional Information
  • Participation in the Safety Committee and HSE activities is encouraged and may rotate among team members.
  • This position requires working in a production environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
