FURNACE OPERATOR LLC

6:30 am - 3:00 pm, overtime, holidays and weekends, a must as needed
$19.75 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate all assigned equipment and processes safely, efficiently, and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Interpret process data and make adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
- Set up, prepare, and monitor machinery including grinding mills, sifters, elevators, dryers, heat exchangers, and related systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist maintenance teams as required.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality standards.
- Take accurate tank readings and monitor tank levels to maintain process balance.
- Maintain accurate logs and electronic data records related to furnace and plant operations.
- Monitor environmental conditions and address any issues per regulatory and internal procedures.
- Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Actively participate in safety meetings, audits, and improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with environmental permits and emission standards by monitoring emission control equipment.
- Assist in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts, including team-based initiatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and technical documentation.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to document electronically.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator when required.
- Familiarity with ISO management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality systems such as CQI and SPC is preferred.
Additional Information
- Participation in the Safety Committee and HSE activities is encouraged and may rotate among team members.
- This position requires working in a production environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
