HLU OPERATOR

5:45 am – 2:15 pm mandatory overtime and weekends as needed
$17.00 per hour
The HLU Operator prepares laminates and operates equipment and materials associated with the hand layup area process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· An HLU Operator loads reinforcing medium and resin or premix charges of prescribed amounts onto molding equipment and carries out prescribed molding cycles.
· Makes minor adjustments to equipment, charge and/or cycle to obtain a quality product.
· Unloads the part from the HLU table/mold, ensuring the part meets quality standards.
· Counts, measures, mixes, and weighs accurately of resins and catalysts.
· Maintains quality, safety, and service-oriented individuals.
· Preparation of molding equipment and materials for daily operations.
· Prepares reinforcing medium and resin for HLU.
· Understand mixes and material identification.
· Performs proper housekeeping within his/her designated area daily.
· Proper and safe handling of power tools (worm drive saw, drill mixer) when needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Effective verbal and written communications in English preferred.
· Basic reading and writing competencies in English preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
· Ability to organize and manage time effectively.
· Possess the ability to utilize the training provided to make sound and safe judgements.
· Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
· Must be able to use hand trucks and carts to push and pull loads > 100 lbs.
· Must have ability to lift and carry loads ≥ 50 lbs.
· Must have ability to safely mount and dismount forklifts.
· Position requires dexterity of hands and fingers to use hand/power tools and fasten items.
· Requires learning/knowledge of hazardous material handling.
