Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and all training in Employee and Food safety.
A willingness to learn and understand company specific requirements in all areas to ensure employee training is effective and easily understood.
Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits; directs the processing of benefit claims.
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Oversees and executes weekly payroll.
Oversees training in employee/plant Safety. Coordinates training in plant meetings and as needed.
Maintains all training records and OSHA 300 log and submits all recordables annually.
Coordinates with safety consultant for plant audits and ensures communication and follow through on safety issues and projects.
Plans and coordinates annual hearing tests with management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
College degree is preferred.
Five years’ experience in Human Resources preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to organize and work well with all levels of personnel.
Must have effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
Confidentiality is required for the protection of employees’ personal information.
Must exhibit sound judgement in decision making and have an inherent ability for complex problem-solving skills. Basic computer knowledge to include MS Word and Excel, is required.
Mustbe able to work in a fast-paced environment with short timelines.
Have a strong attention to detail.
Be a self-starter and have a clean and neat appearance and pleasant demeanor as required.
