HEALTH SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT SPECIALIST

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with occupational health and safety specialists to help prevent harm to workers, property, the environment, and the general public.
- Help design safe workspaces, inspect machines, or test air quality.
- In addition to making workers safer, technicians work with specialists to increase worker productivity by reducing absenteeism and equipment downtime.
- Conducting safety inspections and imposing fines.
- Take measurements and collect workplace data either for routine inspection or as directed by a manager.
- Focus on testing air, water, machines, and other elements of the work environment.
- Collect data for managers then analyze. Usually working under the supervision of specialists, they also help to implement and evaluate safety programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Typically 2+ years related industry experience.
- SAP Knowledge preferred.
- Accuracy and attention to detail important.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills in English are important.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is important.
- PC skills including Excel spreadsheet and Word processing.
- Must be physically able to perform duties, as defined in job description.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to read and understand drawings. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Show evidence of independence and be a self-starter to accomplish daily tasks and goals efficiently.
- Typically will interface with departmental staff. Commitment to customer service is important.
- Must be able to work varied schedule with extended hours.
