WET COAT INDUSTRIAL PAINTER

6:00 am – 4:30 pm
$20.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Mix, stir, and thin wet paints using spatulas or powered mixers.
- Prepare surfaces by removing grease, dirt, rust, or old coatings using abrasives, solvents, or sandblasting tools.
- Apply primers and finish coatings using HVLP or airless spray guns.
- Adjust spray gun settings and paint viscosity for proper application and coverage.
- Inspect and correct surface flaws such as runs, streaks, or blisters.
- Clean, disassemble, and maintain spray equipment.
- Select appropriate spray systems and coatings based on project specifications.
- Apply undercoats, caulking, and seal seams to prevent rust and corrosion.
- Sand between coats for proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
- Set up and operate portable painting and ventilation equipment.
- Safely move equipment and materials using lifting aids.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Wet paint application experience required (powder coating experience is not applicable)
- Proficiency with HVLP or airless spray systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve painting-related issues
- Dependable, self-directed, and safety-conscious
- Physically able to lift, carry, push, or pull 20–50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working at heights and in awkward positions (e.g., ladders, crouching, kneeling)
- Ability to work in loud environments and visually inspect painted surfaces
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
