Helps load reels of twisted pair /unit reels onto /in stander or cabler payoff, threads each pair /unit to front of payoff through die plate tie off. Performs these duties internal to stander runtime to the greatest possible extent to minimize down time.
Relieves operator for breaks and lunch, as required, and accepts responsibility for actions or inactions during periods of relieving. Obtains twisted /unit reel loads as necessary. Obtains other supplies as occasion arises.
Receives direction from the operator and assists in coordinating own work with operator (s).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Manufacturing plant experience
Familiar with the following equipment used: stationary payoffs, sparker, binder head, die plates, running dies, counters, guides, revolving capstan and take-up, also straight line pull take-up and capstan
Familiar with the following material used: Insulated twisted pairs, units, super units, and super units in various gauges and colors. Polypropylene binders, tags, electrical tape, shrinkable sleeves, Mylar, grease flex-gel, polyester string binders and various solvents.
Dexterity required especially in loading and pulling through.
Be familiar enough with equipment to recognize a variance from standard. When relieving operator, must recognize variance and stop machine, and take corrective action whenever it is warranted. Helper function is basically repetitive, and any settings involved are minor.
