LAB TECHNICIAN
Part- Time : 25- 30 hours per week
Monday - Friday
7:00 am - until job is completed
$17.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate the cutting, identifying, ordering of Foam samples
- Prepare samples in accordance with Quality Management System procedure for testing
- Bring cut samples from cutting station to the lab
- Prepare and maintain the lab equipment to ensure that the conditions, equipment, procedures, and facilities meet the requirements necessary to conduct reliable and quality product performance measurements.
- Perform the tests of the Foam products in accordance with the established procedures to ensure that the conditions, equipment, procedures, and facilities meet the requirements necessary to conduct reliable and quality product performance measurements to produce accurate data
- Report test results as required, report any failures to Quality Manager
- Ensure the laboratory is run efficiently and effectively and that tests and procedures are conducted within designated health and safety parameters
- Ensure the laboratory is consistently well-stocked and has the appropriate resources for all kinds of experiments to be conducted
- Follow all environmental health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain routine lab reports within the required time frames for each report
- Know how to use and update SAP databases as required for the Lab
- Implement and maintain SS standards for the Lab.
- Complete assigned responsibilities, duties, tasks and projects within the scheduled time frame
- Bring cut samples from cutting station to the lab and place inside conditioning room
- Prepare and process samples for shipment to the customer if required, in a timely manner.
- Any other duties that are assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- To perform this Job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each principle Job duty satisfactorily.
- GED or high school diploma preferred
- Solid foundation in quality control measuring and testing concepts (preferred)
- Knowledge of the foam fabrication (preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques (preferred)
- Knowledge of raw materials and raw material handling (preferred)
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards (preferred)
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety standards and compliance (preferred)
- Knowledge of process Improvement techniques (preferred)
- Knowledge of testing Instrumentation, machines and tools (preferred)
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft office and business systems
- Understanding of analytics
