MACHINE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

6:00 am - 4:00 pm
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to identify causes of malfunction
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, and test for proper operation
- Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report issues as required
- Dismantle machines and equipment to access problem areas
- Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other mechanical issues
- Perform emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance on production equipment
- Start machines and equipment to test operation following repairs
- Repair or replace defective parts, motors, belts, and adjust feed mechanisms
- Connect wiring to motors and fixtures, replace switches and fuses, and splice or insulate wires
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Maintain clean work areas, tools, and equipment
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, and waste material from machines
- Clean and lubricate machine parts to ensure smooth operation
- Perform general building maintenance such as patching, painting, and minor plumbing repairs
- Assist with the installation of new production machinery and equipment
- Maintain routine housekeeping standards and safety compliance
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and understand mechanical processes
- Basic knowledge of electronics and hydraulics
- Previous experience in a machine shop performing maintenance mechanic duties preferred
- Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team
