Job Description

MACHINE OPERATOR
Monday - Friday
12:00 pm – 10:30 pm, mandatory overtime
$15.87 per hour
Must be able to train on day shift

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operate machinery and equipment safely, including overhead cranes, walk-lifts, and die carts.
  • Use measurement tools such as decimals, fractions, calipers, micrometers, scales, and fixed gauges.
  • Follow quality procedures and help maintain plant quality goals.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, job layouts, and setup instructions.
  • Adjust and install safety equipment; train others on safe operation.
  • Set up and operate compound and progressive dies, including spacing and clearance adjustments.
  • Determine when tooling needs maintenance.
  • Meet production goals within designated timeframes.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned with limited supervision.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong math skills and ability to use basic measurements.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Accurate completion of time sheets and production reports.
  • Flexible to work overtime and different shifts with minimal notice.
  • Reliable safety, attendance, and performance record.
  • Ability to identify parts by catalog number and recognize product defects.
  • Ability to meet press department production and inspection standards.
  • Must lift/move loads of 40 lbs. or more and apply torque up to 125 ft. lbs.
  • Minimum six months of draw or stamping press experience preferred.
  • Mechanical Aptitude test may be required and used in evaluation.
  • Must complete forklift and hand lift safety training within 90 days.
