MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Monday - Friday, mandatory overtime as needed.
Train on days
6:00 am - 2:30 pm
2nd: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm
3rd: 10:00 pm - 6:30 am
$21.00 per hour.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and performing regular preventative maintenance and electrical work as assigned and promptly. Examples include changing bearings, seals, and shafts, along with replacing hardware, reading wire diagrams, and wiring motors
- Analyze machine error messages and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment issues
- Follow and comply with machine/facility Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company safety policies. This includes reporting accidents, property damage, or near misses to a supervisor
- Maintain a clean work environment after the completion of a task
- Respond to maintenance requests submitted via the reporting app or communicated by the production team and ensure to document the repair/maintenance within the maintenance records.
- Perform routine maintenance of machines and parts, such as inspecting drivers, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions
- Report and document issues that require escalation when needed
- Prioritize maintenance requests based on impact on the production schedule
- Help maintain parts inventory for the facility
- Support production line and general operation teams on a variety of projects when needed
- Research / troubleshoot maintenance issues using repair manuals, equipment schematics, and other available resources to diagnose machine malfunctions
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school, GED or equivalent
- Forklift certified preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in general repair /equipment maintenance, construction, electrical or related fields
- Understanding of the lockout/tagout procedures
- Basic mechanical skills, welding, and electrical experience
- Experience with working on drag conveyors, screw conveyors, gearboxes, pulley systems, chains and sprockets
- Experience with control wiring, working with hydraulic and pneumatic controls
- Able to perform diagnostic tests with a basic electrical multimeter (voltage, current draw, and continuity)
- Able to read blueprints and electrical drawings
- Ability to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs, remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours, and ascend/descend a ladder or stairs daily
- Ability to operate a computer and other office technology
- Ability to observe details at close range
