Job Description

MATERIAL COORDINATOR 
Monday - Friday 
8:00 am - 5:00 pm 
$18.00 per hour 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with various departments to manage efficient flow and movement of all materials
  • Communicate with external business partners and vendors regarding supply needs for various items.
  • Prepare an efficient shipping schedule and evaluate production schedules and determine required materials and ensure availability of all materials
  • Prepare reports for all materials consumption based on published production plan
  • Maintain information for status of materials on weekly basis
  • Prepare required reports for cost accounts and procurement to ensure compliance with all account payable requirements
  • Helps lead and build a manufacturing culture of excellence – first-time quality and safety.  
  • Ensure proper use of FIFO practices against material shelf-life requirements and material storage organization and sanitation confines
  • Managing internal and external material transfers for weekly production needs
  • Collaborate with various departments to manage efficient flow of materials by pre-staging raw materials and packaging for production
  • Returning remnant materials back to on-site storage facilities post-production
  • Reconcile on-hand inventory against systems usage for on-going accurate inventory levels
  • Track ongoing material scrap risk through systems material reporting 
  • Load and unload goods from arrival and departure trucks
  • Obtain copies of production schedules / shipping orders in order to verify transport materials / equipment to the correct areas and from designated areas in the facility
  • Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility as needed
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of degree, 3-5 years of experience in similar role
  • At least 3-5 years of supply planning, procurement and/or sourcing
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • At least 1-2 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • OSHA certified Forklift license preferred. Prior experience required 
  • Ability to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs and ascend/descend a ladder or stairs daily
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office technology 
  • Ability to observe details at close range
