Job Description

MATERIAL HANDLER
Monday - Friday 
7:00 am - 5:00 pm 
$19.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Clean and prepare metal and various materials for welding.
  • Assist in finishing parts, tanks, and pans by grinding, polishing, or painting.
  • Supply welders with materials for current and future projects.
  • Manage material flow and storage efficiently.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and telehandlers to transport materials and projects safely.
  • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move and load materials.
  • Load trailers using a forklift.
  • Operate metal fabrication machines such as grinders, drills, and presses, and complete shipment paperwork.
  • Read and follow blueprints, schematics, and instructions to accurately create parts while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist in lifting and moving heavy materials as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to support workplace efficiency and safety.
  • Inspect and report on the condition of trailers and collection containers.
  • Comply with workplace safety regulations and procedures.
  • Assist in tank assembly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of two (2) years of industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and manual tools (e.g., saws, squares, scrapers, grinders).
  • Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and drawings.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and willingness to use protective gear (face shield, gloves, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift operation experience required.
