ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform advanced welding and fitting techniques to assemble structural frameworks using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, combination squares, and rulers to align and secure components before assembly.
- Cut, contour, and bevel metal plates and structural shapes according to blueprint specifications.
- Tack weld and fit multiple components, ensuring structural integrity and alignment.
- Operate overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment for safe and efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Follow company safety protocols and quality control procedures to ensure compliance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to fit and fabricate metal frameworks per detailed work orders and layouts.
- Proficiency in measuring and checking grooves, angles, and gap allowances using precision measuring tools.
- Experience with burning, measuring, and tack welding to properly assemble components.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, quality standards, and housekeeping practices.
- Capability to operate cranes and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Minimum of two years of structural fitting experience, or the ability to pass skills assessment tests.
- Strong verbal communication skills for effective workplace collaboration.
- Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum in a fabrication environment.
