NATURAL GAS CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Direct Hire Position

$68,000 - $92,000 DOE, potential of 25% annual bonus
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Natural Gas Construction Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of natural gas utility projects in the Austin area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gas distribution systems, pipeline construction, and regulatory compliance. This role requires leadership, problem-solving, and project management expertise to ensure safe and efficient operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee all aspects of natural gas pipeline construction, including installation, maintenance, and repair of underground gas utilities, regulators, and metering stations.
- Lead and supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, cost estimates, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety protocols, environmental requirements, and industry standards.
- Conduct site inspections and enforce safety measures such as trench safety, soil integrity assessments, and gas leak prevention.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges related to pipeline installation and ensure quality control measures are upheld.
- Manage procurement of materials, ensuring timely delivery and efficient inventory management.
- Maintain accurate records, provide project updates to stakeholders, and prepare progress reports for senior management.
- Review and approve subcontractor work to meet quality and safety standards.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to OSHA and other relevant workplace safety guidelines.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5+ years in natural gas construction management, with expertise in underground pipelines and gas distribution.
- Must have prior experience working directly for Atmos Energy or as a contractor for Atmos Energy.
- In-depth understanding of gas utility infrastructure, including pressure regulation, metering systems, and pipeline construction.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale natural gas construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and local gas utility codes.
- Excellent ability to lead teams, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and resolve on-site challenges.
- Strong verbal and written communication to interact with teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications for gas infrastructure.
- Certifications (Preferred): OSHA safety training, HAZWOPER certification, PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, or other gas-specific credentials.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with gas-specific project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in pipeline construction and repair.
