Job Description

METER PROVER
Monday - Thursday 
5:30 am - 2:30 pm 
$21.64 per hour
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Operate meter provers to test and calibrate liquid meters in crude oil and refined products
  • Determine K-factor (pulses per unit volume) and meter factor (adjustments for ambient conditions)
  • Verify linearity of meters across the calibrated flow range
  • Maintain accurate records of testing data, meter performance, and maintenance activities
  • Schedule customers for meter proving services
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Basic working knowledge of hand tools, computers, low-voltage electricity, and valve operations
  • Must reside within a 45-minute drive of Cross Plains, TX
  • Ability to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in emergencies; personal grooming and hygiene required
  • Responsible for maintaining all work-related equipment
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (60 lb, 4”x20’ hose with dry breaks on each end)
  • Willingness to travel and spend 2–3 nights per week away from home
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
