Job Description

PAYROLL OFFICER
Monday - Friday 
7:00 am - 4:00 pm 
$35.00 per hour
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls by reviewing and analyzing data from various sources (e.g., GEOS, MSS, approved emails).
  • Audit and reconcile payroll data before and after transmission to ensure accuracy of paychecks, taxes, GL entries, and W-2s.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and supporting documentation for approval.
  • Distribute required payroll reports to internal departments every pay period.
  • Communicate with HR and leadership teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Research and resolve payroll inquiries from employees and managers in a timely, professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Benefits team on insurance deduction adjustments and vendor data reconciliation.
  • Support quarterly and year-end activities including audits, W-2 checks, and W2c processing.
  • Maintain and update child support and garnishment records in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Coordinate with Payroll Manager regarding tax issues or changes.
  • Provide backup support to other payroll staff as needed.
  • Partner with HRIS on Oracle data questions and uploads.
  • Calculate and issue off-cycle and termination pay accurately and in compliance with state laws.
  • Handle QMCSO and GL research tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with data gathering for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related matters.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience processing multi-state payroll for a large employer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ADP Payforce, Enterprise, or Vantage required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Oracle or SAP experience preferred.
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred.
