JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team at a meat processing plant in Rowena, Texas. The Quality Control Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and safety in all stages of meat processing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct thorough quality assurance checks at various stages of the meat processing operations, including receiving, processing, packaging, and distribution.
- Perform visual inspections, sensory evaluations, and laboratory testing of meat products to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, test results, and compliance documentation. Generate reports summarizing findings and recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor critical control points in the production process to prevent contamination, ensure food safety, and maintain product integrity.
- Identify deviations from quality standards or process specifications and work collaboratively with production staff to address issues promptly and effectively.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and sensory evaluation tools to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements at all times.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or education or training in food science, quality assurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in quality control, food manufacturing, or meat processing is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise and accurate measurements and evaluations.
- Knowledge of food safety principles, HACCP regulations, and GMP standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
