SETUP OPERATOR
Monday – Friday
7:30 am – 4:00 pm, mandatory overtime and shift change, as needed
$17.50 per hour or DOE
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Use decimals, fractions, scale, caliper, micrometer, and fixed gauges.
- Know quality procedures/objectives; help reach and maintain plant quality goals.
- Work from engineering drawings, job layouts, setup and quality procedures.
- Adjust safety equipment and instruct others in the safe use of machines and
- equipment.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, walk-lifts, die carts and other materials.
- Safely operate gas, propane, and electric forklifts, and pass a forklift operator’s quiz.
- Set, adjust and pull compound and progressive dies, calculate die spacing clearances, and setup automatic and mechanical feeds.
- Perform assigned setup duties in allotted time/meet established production criteria.
- Determine when machinery requires maintenance.
- Installing replacement parts.
- Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
- Diagnosing and repairing machine failures.
- Using power tools and different hand tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Logging performed maintenance work.
- Work under limited supervision, and perform all other supervisor/setup assigned duties.
- Load, unload, feed material into dies.
- Accurately complete time sheets and production reports.
- Ability to identify parts by catalog number, inspect for quality, and recognize defects.
- Ability to check operation of press and meet press department production requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Mechanical aptitude test may be required, test scores may be used in evaluating candidates.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to use basic math.
- Mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity.
- Good safety, attendance, and performance records.
- Ability to lift and maneuver loads of 40lbs. or more without assistance.
- Maintenance experience preferred.
