Job Description

FLUX CORE WELDER 
Monday - Friday 
8:00 am - 5:00 pm 
$25.00 per hour 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform high-quality structural FCAW welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical (uphill/downhill) positions.
  • Select, set up, and operate welding machines, wire feeders, and shielding gas apparatus.
  • Interpret technical documents, blueprints, and weld symbols to determine layout and specifications.
  • Prepare surfaces for welding (cleaning, grinding) and clean welds (chipping/grinding slag) after each pass.
  • Inspect and test welds for accuracy and structural integrity to ensure compliance with AWS or ASME standards.
  • Assist with layout, fitting, and tacking components before final welding. 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 1–3 years of experience with FCAW in a structural fabrication or shipbuilding environment.
  • Requires passing a 3G or 4G welding test (uphill/structural).
  • Strong knowledge of metal properties, weld joints, and wire types (e.g., .045, .052, 1/16 wire).
