AUTOMOTIVE WELDER
Monday - Friday, Saturdays as needed
7:00 am - 3:30 pm
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour, DOE
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform MIG, arc, and gas welding on automotive and heavy equipment components
- Fabricate, modify, and repair metal parts and structural components
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Conduct inspections and routine maintenance on welding equipment and machinery
- Diagnose equipment issues and recommend repair solutions
- Use cutting tools, including oxy-acetylene torches and air carbon arc equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately
- Plan and prioritize daily tasks to meet production deadlines
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience with MIG, arc, and gas welding techniques - weld test will be performed
- Ability to work with various metals, including steel, cast components, and aluminum
- Strong understanding of welding safety practices and OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Must be able to read a tape measure and blueprints
- Must have steel-toe boots and FR (flame-resistant) clothing. Will need to bring their welding hood & gloves to onsite interview.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with shop equipment and tools
- Solid problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
