WAREHOUSE MANAGER

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee the receipt, coordination and safety of goods coming through the plant’s warehouse.
- Ensure that orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the right destinations and in the right quantities.
- Play a “hands on” role in the managing motivating and directing the plant’s warehouse workforce.
- Manage efficient systems to account for all incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods.
- Ensure that all goods are stored securely and safely in conditions appropriate for the raw material/finished product.
- Ensure the health, safety, and cleanliness of the work environment.
- Carry out a regular cycle of Warehouse cleaning and inspections to ensure hygiene standards are always maintained to the highest level possible and in compliance with legislative requirements.
- Ensure all materials and goods are stored in accordance with good food hygiene practice and local food storage legislation.
- Carefully monitor stock levels in storage and stock rotations that consider production dates, nature of the perishable goods and storage to ensure all raw materials
- Process all orders for distribution and incoming delivery and maintain accurate records of all goods in and out of storage.
- Establish quality objectives for the warehouse facilities and ensure these are met.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Accurately understand, deliver, and fulfill the objectives and directions given by the senior management of the plant.
- Keep accurate records of damaged stock returned and the nature of the damage (perished goods, damaged in transit etc.)
- Produce accurate records of all raw materials and other goods arriving for storage prior to their use in the production process and to ensure that stock levels are carefully monitored.
- Liaise closely with the Production to keep them accurately informed of stock levels of finished products available for distribution and levels of raw material for production.
- Provide early warning of likely shortages to prevent any interruption to the availability of finished products for sale or raw materials for production.
- Schedule all appointments necessary for daily or weekly deliveries to outside cold storage facilities.
- Schedule all appointments necessary to retrieve all raw materials needed to support operations in a weekly or daily basis.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
