ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
  • Troubleshoots and performs mechanical repairs and planned, preventive and predictive maintenance of all equipment associated with operations.
  • Installs machinery, pipes, structural steel, etc.
  • Maintains correct stockroom inventory and keep orderly. 
  • Interfaces with maintenance management system(s) including printing work orders, inputting information, etc. 
  • Operate an angle grinder, hammer drill, and other powered hand tools.
  • Operate man lifts, forklifts, or other construction-related equipment.
  • Operate plasma, oxy-acetylene, and cutting wheels. 
  • Perform minor metal fabrication and pipe fitting. 
  • Weld using Tig, Mig, and stick methods. 
  • Replace gearboxes, motors, drive belts, drive chains, shafts, and other mechanical transmission components. 
  • Rig and move equipment or machines in a safe manner.  
  • Assist with and/or perform minor electrical maintenance.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 to 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. (or applicable Mechanical Technical Degree)
  • Experience in plant safety systems such as Confined Space entry, Hot Work permitting, and Lockout/Tagout of industrial equipment.
  • Basic skills in areas of industrial mechanical equipment troubleshooting and repairs, pipe fitting, minor metal fabrication including welding, and proper use of mechanical tools.
  • Ability to use a computer - basic computer skills. 
  • Experience with a forklift preferred.
  • Familiarity with natural gas safety systems and associated safety equipment.

  • Required to take proper care and use of test equipment.
  • Required to properly use lift equipment (cranes, booms, man lifts, cherry picker, etc.)
  • Exercise communication skills pertaining to the job.
  • Occasionally will be called during irregular hours to handle production coverage with little or no supervision.
  • Reports all abnormal conditions and safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Will perform housekeeping and other routine tasks as directed.
  • Is diligent at all times to work safely and to follow safe working practices, including Lockout/Tag Out procedures and other safety procedures.
  • Lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, stretching, stooping, and working in awkward and/or confined positions.

  • Checks machines for faulty wiring, excessively worn parts and unsafe conditions.
  • Checks, diagnoses, and repairs failed electrical circuits, due to component failures.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
 
  • Graduate of a technical school or apprenticeship program in a related field in Electrical Maintenance.

  • Read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints and National Electrical Codes are used to comprehend complex electrical circuits both AC and DC.
