ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
  • Troubleshoots and performs mechanical repairs and planned, preventive and predictive maintenance of all equipment associated with operations.
  • Installs machinery, pipes, structural steel, etc.
  • Maintain correct stockroom inventory and keep it orderly. 
  • Interfaces with maintenance management system(s), including printing work orders, inputting information, etc. 
  • Operate an angle grinder, hammer drill, and other powered hand tools.
  • Operate man lifts, forklifts, or other construction-related equipment.
  • Operate plasma, oxy-acetylene, and cutting wheels. 
  • Perform minor metal fabrication and pipe fitting. 
  • Weld using Tig, Mig, and stick methods. 
  • Replace gear boxes, motors, drive belts, drive chains, shafts, and other mechanical transmission components. 
  • Rig and move equipment or machines in a safe manner.  
  • Assists with and/or performs minor electrical maintenance.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 to 5 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. (or applicable Mechanical Technical Degree)
  • Experience in plant safety systems such as Confined Space entry, Hot Work permitting, and Lockout/Tagout of industrial equipment.
  • Basic skills in areas of industrial mechanical equipment troubleshooting and repairs, pipe fitting, minor metal fabrication, including welding, and proper use of mechanical tools.
  • Ability to use computer - basic computer skills. 
  • Experience with a forklift preferred.
  • Familiarity with natural gas safety systems and associated safety equipment.

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
